Amazing Follower Tweaks - Is there a fix? Is it another mod

Hello!

Long time user, rare poster.

So I've recently fallen in love with Amazing Follower Tweaks (AFT). It lets you more or less recruit any NPC you come across to join your settlement. It's awesome to have Trashcan Carla actually setting up shop in Sanctuary. The only downside? None of the named NPC's I've recruited (Carla, and three others from various mods [Tales of Commonwealth, Outcasts] will engage with sim plots. They'll show that they are assigned, but they either ignore them entirely in practice, or they just animate-build forever but nothing ever happens.

These same NPCs have no trouble being assigned to regular beds and jobs.

I suppose it could be another mod conflicting, but something tells me it has something to do with the primary mods and how they view/read the settler's info.

One thing I have not yet done is a "full import" of the NPC. This wipes their AI entirely and makes them a blank slate. I may try that but I thought I'd ask here for any advice.

Oh, and I've already tried reassigning them to the settlement, and sending them to an alternate settlement and back. No dice on that.

Thanks!

Ok, I am a little confused myself. I can respond for pc but your profile is xbox so this may not help.

Once you have done something like this:
~ resetai
What I have found is it will fix itself, but.....
it can take a very long time in game.
How long?

Oh, long.
Like up to 30 levels of time in-game.
But, eventually, they do reset.

Still, as good as AFT is: some Ai's were never intended to be broken so your luck is what it is.

I should change my profile. I'm PC now.

What is ~resetai ? What will it do exactly? just cleans the NPC brain

Thanks!

hahaha, welcome to pc :friends Welcome to one of the best advantages of pc for F04. You will now have an arsenal of debugging tool.,

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_4_console_commands

Please see section NPC manipulation
commands like
enable - disable (good for things like NPC's with broken legs that don't fix)
recycleactor (maybe a better command here)

2 - bits of advice

1. save
2. time, what I said above is important "many of these commands will not show immediate results" some need time, some need cell reset, some need you sign in-out of the game, some need.........

Anyway, see the link above and enjoy! :bye

My guess, and this is purely a guess, is that the recruitment function of AFT doesn't truly convert the targeted NPC into a vanilla workshop NPC and thus they aren't given the correct workshop NPC assignment idle packages because the workshop scripts aren't finding all the keywords they need to do so, or they aren't being triggered at the right time to 100% register the NPC. Dheuster is pretty approachable and may be able to help confirm this on the AFT end. :agree:
