Abernathy Farm Bugs for RotC

ok i found why my abernarthy have so much deficit is caused by a général bug when you refresh the city turret and generator maintenace cost is counted for the one that disapear and the new one so it goes up everytime you do a refresh.

I have this same issue with Sanctuary, though it might be because the playthrough I'm on right now was started before some of the recent patches that might have fixed it. The plunge in maintenance cost from level 0 to level 1 Sanc is pretty steep.

Definitely a known issue. This should self correct in a future update.

We need to hook the game-built sandbox marker for Clarabelle and move her to hang out with the other cows.

I used modpos to put her in the pature.

She was having none of that, climbed the fence, and went right back to stomp around the carrot patch.

I laughed and laughed.

Yeah, short of shooting her, a lot of people just kind of scrap the ag plot, throw down a cow trough and let her be where she wants to be.

At least the settlement visitors don't use her or the cat as target practice anymore.

Does anyone else have 10+ cows in your Abernathy? If I have to fast travel to Abernathy they are all right there with Clarabell, some in the air and fall down and die, along with just about all the settlers it seems. It crashes my system. I can walk into Abernathy from Red Rocket though and that's fine.

I FT to Wicked Shipping once and that crashed also.

Are there supposed to be that many cows there?

Try it with today's patch in place and the optimizations turned on in the holotape, I'm curious if your spare cows have gone away with the update

yup. my abernathy is brahmin central.

last time i went there, when i spawned in there were 9 brahmin plus the original one that is part of the farm. the visitors used to shoot them, so i shot the visitors....it got messy. now i have visitors disabled everywhere because they were just unruly, but the brahmin remain.

I believe there's supposed to be between 8 and 10 brahmin there, the whole lower field is supposed to be a ranch field.
There shouldn't be any more than that though, just one brahmin per brahmin spawn marker :)

one of the best/worst things i ever saw was with using transfer settlements to import a settlement. i had a brahmin at starlight drive in, nuked the settlement which in turn blew up the brahmin.

so the settlement imported and all was well, except i had pieces of brahmin - according to the game - still alive - laying there, moo-ing at me.

to resolve the situation, i had to click on a chunk of brahmin and issue a recycleactor command to put it back together. funny, yet disturbing and not at all related to simsettlements, but i thought i'd share anyway.

I have actually some strange thing at Abernathy going on.. First time I tried to use it as a RoTC settlement was with 3.1.0 I believe, I've started a new game meanwhile and my SS version is 3.1.2, and so yesterday I turned Abernathy's into RoTC settlement after doing their quest for the locket (received from Preston). While camera started to fly around and did a first pass of the house, I saw suddenly a whole bunch of people spawn on the edge of the screen (between Abernathy and Red Rocket, direction wise but like 30-50 meters from Abernathy's house) and I could not see who these were at first. I thought "damn good timing for raiders or Gunners to spawn and attack, while I am flying high here". But nope, those weren't raiders. Once camera settled, I saw that it was a large group of BoS soldiers. Now, I am in good relationship with BoS so that's not an issue, and I assumed that they're just gonna move on, but nope, they remained in Abernathy area. In fact, they travel into the house, around the house, around the farm and it was a group of about 5 to 8 BoS soldiers.

I went away for a while and came back later and saw that another group of BoS soldiers had spawned there, same size! Now I don't mind extra security, I mean, some raider gang decided to attack the farm but were cut down by BoS before they could even say "S**t, BoS is here!" but I am just wondering, I have a whole battalion of them there now and this thing never happened to me before, so is it something related to SS and should I do the upgrade ASAP? I mean, I plan to upgrade anyway but just checking.

i've never seen anything like that in any play through i've had. i get some minutemen patrols randomly passing thru abernathy but BOS basically camping out is not something i've encountered. do you have any mods that will give you enhanced BoS patrols or spawns, or anything like that in your load order?

No, not a single mod I have affects factions in any way. Faction "related" mods only modify textures of some faction outfits or overall gear looks, and mod I made my own simply improves the level ranges, stats and perks of settlers and some NPC's in various places in the world and also within factions. But yeah, this has never happened to me either, only change I made in my mod list was upgrading SS to 3.1.2 some time ago and this occurred right after I turned Abernathy into RoTC settlement. And they seem to like to hang around there for some reason and not go anywhere, thus I was wondering if anyone has seen it as well and if it may be SS related.

EDIT: @tankthing - Ah, that may be it! Because I did assign Danse as the leader of Abernathy Farm settlement since at this time only he and Ada were "free" and I planned on sending Ada to lead another settlement. That explains it then. Well then, thanks to Danse in that case, I have now a whole battalion of extra security at my disposal :)

oh that makes me want to go back and start over as danse is dead in my game......so i never got to experience the joy of a paramilitary outfit protecting my settlement.

I had to turn visitors off for now, or at least until I patch to the latest release.. Those BoS visitors kept coming, I think last time I was at Abernathy I had more BoS soldiers around then there are on Prydwen and in airport combined. Could have formed my own "Brotherhood of <some other metal>".

EDIT: turning visitors off and leaving area for a while and coming back later did not clear the BoS members, they still hang around. A lot of them. Which is good for security for time being, I guess, but if I would happen to choose BoS side in main story and alienate Danse with BoS, I suspect this would end up with a huge war at Abernathy's, should I go there with Danse (and if they don't leave the area).

EDIT 2: Below is the image of BoS members at Abernathy (assuming the link works, pic is on Steam), note that this is not all of them, there's plenty of BoS to the sides, behind me, inside the house, behind the house, way to left on pasture, etc.

Nah link didn't work, see if I can upload the image..

EDIT 3: Does anyone have any idea how I can get rid of this BoS army at Abernathy? I took Danse away as the leader, left for few days and came back, that made no difference - I still have about 6-7 vertibirds parked around the farm, one flying around it patrolling in air, almost three times as many BoS soldiers around as there are in Boston airport and Prydwen combined. Assigned Codsworth as the new leader, no difference so far. Vistors already disabled, disabled animals and extra NPC's - nope. Heck I even summoned a whole bunch of sentry bot level angry automatrons but BoS forces are there in such a number that they killed them all and only one BoS soldier died. From explosions of wrecked robots. However, almost all fields and some water purifiers got blown up in crossfire, so I had to refresh and fix those afterwards.. Do I have to blow up my whole level 3 settlement or something to get rid of them? I don't want to outright shoot them either, since I am in good terms with BoS and removing them via console isn't something I would like to do either.

One issue which seemed to be quite common at Abernathy - while using the city planner desk (when it is at it's barn location) I kept getting message "you must be within city limits" when trying access some reports or use some tools (for example, settler happiness report), even though I was within settlement boundaries. Had to go all the way up to the main house to be able to use those features. Hmm, I hope I didn't do a double report..

As for BoS at Abernarthy - after taking Danse away for a while as a companion, assigning different leader, then finally nuking the whole city, I got rid of most of BoS. But still sizeable amount remained, but only one vertibird. Rebuilt city manually using plots only and some more BoS disappeared, but many still remained. Didn't want to leave no matter what. So I "Order 66'd" them, through console. Now I got all this loot to sell..

im going to say arm yourself with a mini nuke, enter god mode and let them have it then run away as far and as fast as possible. the only thing is all your settlers and clarabell will probably get destroyed in the mayhem.
or open a console, and mark them all with markfordelete;disable

That would be one way, sure. But since I am on good terms with BoS and want to keep things that way, it may not be an optimal choice :) So feeling cheesy as heck, I simply opened the console, targeted them and then used "kill".. So sad.. Although sadness was offset by quite a bit by the profit from sales of their gear. I know, cheeky thing.

Weird thing was that the vertibirds which I thought had all despawned appeared to be all around the map in a wide circle around Abernathy, I found them in forests and where not, just standing there, no pilots on but engines running. Console - target - kill. No new BoS has spawned again, so good in that sense. I guess it was 3.1.2 bug since I had that installed when they started to appear, although while 3.1.5 was installed more did join so not too sure.

The general store marker keeps spawning inside of the sales table. I’ve reloaded the settlement three times.

I'm having a problem with repeatable CTD's.

I am on a save that has had 3.3.0 installed from the beginning. The city is ready to upgrade to L3. I have city upgrades set to manual. I just finished doing a "Refresh local plots" and "Refresh City" to fix the issue with plots being at odd angles and walls hanging out in space. I have let my PC just stand there for about 15 min. Also, I turned off cinimatic mode. When I select "Upgrade City" after about 1min I CTD. It's repeatable, and I have done it multiple times now. Is my only option to self destruct the city at this point? Or just leave it sitting at L2? 21 Active scripts in the save file, all SS spawn scripts.

Load up the new patch, 3.3.1, refresh the City Plan and see how it goes.
