So, the HQ fix DOESwork on completly new Saves.
It DOES NOT work on saves which already expirienced the problem.
What about saves which were created before this patch, but have not started any of the HQ quests (still in chapter 1) and have not been near GNR?
Interesting,have you tried destroying them all with the "advanced > destroy plot" asam option?

So only 1 req. an thats: 1 Caravan plot per settlement in range, got it.
It eventually did share food/water, just took a lot longer than i explected.
Is there any rule of thumb on how I should "wait" for such an update? Inside the settlement or leave and do soething else?

You can attach it to a laser weapon as a muzzle attachment using the weapon workbench. In the workbench menu there is no description on the right, but the stat changes on the left indicate that its a copy of the beam focuser. visually it shares a model with the beam focuser
