Solved Do maintenance costs apply to Industrial plots that generate power?

I understand how maintenance costs apply to the power generators in the vanilla workshop. But what about some of the SS add-ons I see that add power-generating Industrial plots (or Advanced Industrial)? I downloaded one that adds a generator that produces 20 power at level 1.

Am I getting a freebie with that, free of maintenance costs by circumventing vanilla generators?

Plots do not need maintenance, so you get that power for free (much like the power plants in industrial revolution or the martial plots giving defence). The whole idea of maintenance was to encourage players to use the plots rather than just spamming generators and turrets.
