MegaPack3 crashing my game

Was wondering if anyone knew why the mod MegaPack 3 for more building plans crashes my game. I know it's that particular mod because i can disable it and everything works as intended. I only wanted new ext recreational building plots but don't know how to search for those individually. Any info or advice would be helpful, thanks.

Does it crash straight away, or is it when you choose a plot? Saying that, it must be a conflict with something else you have, as many more bug reports would have been filed if it was MP Y3. Many people are using it without issues.

Yeah, you're right, it crashed again after about 2 hours without even having the Y3 enabled. Always in Sanctuary. Fuck it

Here's a tip. Go into your mod manager. All the different plots in the Megapacks are set up as ESL's. Disable the ones you are not using. They will not be loaded into the game at all.

I......have no idea what you're talking about XD. I don't know the first thing when it comes to modding. I have very few mods compared to most others at only 7. My PC is very capable of handling the game, I must not be doing something right.

Ok, If you cant do the disable esl stuff yet, lets start at he basics. Sort of.
Is your sanctuary build a city plan or your own.

Do you have extra stuff you have done in Abernathy farm and or Red Rocket?

When it crashes, do you see by any chance a message that says something like xxxx is upgrading there home / factory / shop? (This may be a bit pie in the sky, coz unless you are looking for it, its easy to miss) If this is the case, then there is a plot causing the issue as it upgrades.

If, its a custom build, do you have lots of plots? I have a city plan there and a custom build at Red Rocket, with no "real" issues. I do have to be careful as I approach RR as it CTDs often. So I always make a sneak approach.

Do you have Fallrim Tools? This is a good way to check to see if your save is "busted" or has issues. @RayBo has done a really good tutorial / video about this. It is well worth the watch, even though you may feel a bit intimidated by it. (Only say that coz you said you now nothing about modding).

Link below takes you to a @RayBo's page that goes over many of the fixes / checks you can do to check your save etc.

I'm doing a custom build at Sanctuary and have nothing at RR or Abernathy. I have over 22 plots as of right now. I'll be sure to check out the video, thank you. If you could point me in the direction of any more helpful content then I'd be very appreciative.

Then its not a triangle of death issue.

Lets see what comes from doing a fallrim check!

Yeeeeaaaaah about that.....this seems too much trouble just to have this one mod. Yes it's cool and I really wanted it to work without having to do a bunch of extra stuff like the videos said but it's not worth this much fuss. I really appreciate all the help tho, thank you :)

So.... you can't give up on this. Simply because once you get some experience with it, you'll find that it's not so complicated. Install the 3 in 1 pack. Leave the rest out for now. Play the game and use what's there....see where it takes you.

That's actually what I did at first but had the same issue with it crashing at Sanctuary. I had the settlement almost at level 3 and then it would crash every time i would enter the cell. No other builds at Abernathy or RR either. That's when i decided to start over and just install SS and Industrial Rev with a few add-ons for different plot builds but yet again had the same problem. When i have a lot of T3 plots is when it crashes. I tried lowering the graphics and clutter settings but still it pooped on me. I think I've tried all the basic fixes that don't include me going into any files or script or whatever because i just KNOW i'll fuck it up in there :D

I'd bet money that it's not something you are doing. SS is script heavy. So what happens is that new ones start up while older ones have not completed yet. What I would do is stay away from the settlement for a bunch of game days. Not 1 or 2, but at least 3. If it gets attacked, stay away. What all that does is to let some older scripts run their course. The 'to do' pile gets smaller.

Thanks, I'll try that......if i'm not already in Sanctuary Hills from my last crash that is XDXD :) I doubt it'll let me escape if i'm already in that cell. I tried to run away from the settlement on my previous save when this was happening with the 3-in-1 but every time i almost got out it crashed XD. We'll see, thanks for your help.

Ok, so, I think I might've figured out what was bugging my game.....Preston.....fucking Preston (or maybe a combo of Preston, Mama, and Sturges but I like blaming Preston). I did what you suggested and waited a week or so in game and did a few other things that may have made a difference. Since I couldn't get to Sanctuary Hills to finish quests for Preston I teleported him to me and made him follow me and then told him to go to another settlement so he wouldn't interfere with SH. I then did the same with Sturges because i hadn't completed any of the little quests associated with SH. Did that with Mama as well. I was then able to go the SH and be fine...for a while anyway. Now I get the hard FREEZES instead of CTD. I plan on killing off Mama as soon as I can so she'll not interfere with anything. Any advice or suggestions to keep this freezing from happening? It's not all the time but only when I go to a settlement that has SS plots and such.

It sounds like you are trying to jump around. One thing that happens is that certain scripts get bugged because they get started and then don't get completed. What I have been doing is to go get Preston's party out of the museum, let them go to Sanctuary, then leave them alone for a good long while. I grab the ASAM sensors and enable SS while I am there. Then I go into explore mode, usually heading for Nordhagen so I can start building it up.

Ok, I understand that the scripts can get buggy from prolonging their quests and stuff but I don't get how leaving them alone and not building anything there will help me in the future when I do decide to build there. Wouldn't it be more efficient to complete Sturges and Mama's little crap first so their scripts will be done. Ever since I moved Preston to another settlement and finished doing the little dumb things from Sturges and Mama I haven't had any crashes and just a few freezes. Oh, and why Nordhagen? Is it a good place to build a SS type settlement? I just got through building at Spectacle Island, there's so much room there :)

As I have played it, I never installed that 3rd megapack. Except for Preston's assignments, all the rest are sidequests. Doing them is up to you. The problem is that if you start them and don't finish...they remain in the savegame as such.

I do have a question though, what kind of hardware do you have in your computer?
