Question Settlement design - static beds?

Messages

I'm working a settlement that is intended to have a hotel. Is there a set of bed objects that present as beds but don't allow settlers to assign to them?

Ideally, I'd like the standard beds (allowing sleeping, etc) without it counting for settler locations.

Not sure if you can. All beds I looked at have the "is a bed" thing. Therefore all will count as beds. Same if you add a bed into a settlement in WS mode. Your bed count goes up.

I was afraid of that. I'll have to work around it.

Are you on the SS discord?

Have asked the question on the discord, I cant see a way round it.

I think I am, but I didn't think to ask there

I think there is a nap object(blue man) in pbp mods and you can place that anywhere but it doesn't count as bed .
Good call. Only problem is where to find a static bed? I assume settlement building is done via the game and not with CK. If CK can be used, then a static bed can be used no problem. I assume PBP is available via the WS menu? Not sure if I ever used it yet.

that would work, if I could somehow place a non interactive bed. I just need that physical model to make this work if I put the anim marker on it.
I just configured blue print stuff as I was intrigued to what was going on here. The blue lay down marker as suggested by @uituit, is a winner.
I just put a few beds from pbp in, and the only ones that appear not to count as a bed are the military cot beds and the first bed in the menu.(but it has no mattress!)

If there are things in game you want for your city plan but can't find in the PBP you can use console commands to spawn it and link it to the workbench, so it gets picked up by the city plan export tool. This post by @Phil_T_Casual has more info, with even more base IDs added by @WeiseDrachenJaeger .

E.g. the standard metal bed (that doesn't count as a settler bed but can be slept in) has 1340D3, and the static version (non-interactible) has ID 707C5 if you'd rather use it with the Nap marker.

If you have the mod "Better Console", you can get the Base IDs of items in the world, or you can look them up in FO4edit or the ck.

oh, I remember KG doing that for a demo video, but it was a settlement item he didn’t have access to yet. I didn’t know we could do that with any statics- this should give me exactly what I need, Thanks!
