Playing the liberator, and confused.

Hey all,
So I'm playing with the Minuteman faction pack (I just can't bring myself to play the bad guy) and I'm not really feeling like the good guy. So I "attack" a settlement, kill all the gunner/raider/etc. and then all the settlers pop up (thought I had to "free" then) and then they hate me right away. I then feel completely thrown off as hey, I just liberated you. They don't like giving tribute... but I didn't ask for any tribute, and it seems like I get penalized for "conquering" the settlement.

Is this a thing that has to be programmed in? Like praise, thank-yous, and supplies not tribute. Or something the mod author forgot to do when setting up the faction?

It would be nice to play the good guy, get a notice that XYZ settlement needs help and to be liberated, and once you do that, they "join the minutemen/brotherhood/railroad" and freely provide supplies to the Outposts to aid in liberating more settlements.

Just my thoughts after putting in 5 or so hours of play, or am I maybe doing something wrong, like selecting the wrong options?

Thanks all for the great work, for as long as I could take it playing the raider, it is an AWESOME system and superb addition to Fallout 4!!

Ok, now I'm even more confused, I played a little longer and just claimed a couple of settlements like normal, like SS normal, and then I go back to my Outpost and now they all attacked me. Minutemen, all turrets, Preston my companion at the time, Codsworth... sooo... what happened there? Is that a bug I should report, or something else I'm not understanding about Conqueror and trying to play the good guy?

Oooh that doesn't sound good. I hope you get an answer. I am just now installing Conqueror and chose to also install the Minutemen faction for the same reason. I do not hate Preston, I love the MM and I wanna be the badass good guy as well. I sure hope you find out you have a mod conflict or something. I'll try and remember this post and come back with my own results. Good luck Drokmar!

Playing the new release (4.1.0) as the Minutemen faction, the vassals hate me and refer to me as a raider.

Also hope this is something easily fixed. I'm not interested in playing anything other than the Minutemen with some help to the railroad. I just started a playthrough, haven't gone to concord yet so I think I'll set Fred aside till I hear more on this.

That's good to hear Jeem. And Phil, sure we could do that also, but, even though I'm no modder, wouldn't the faction packs be using the backend/functionality of Conqueror itself? Not trying to be arbitrary, just curious.

Someone could definitely make a Nukaworld patch to resolve this, it would basically require checking into the Nukaworld dialogue quests and changing the Conditions on those lines so they aren't looking for the WorkshopType02Vassal keyword - just change the keyword to something completely random so that it will always fail the condition and never play that dialogue.

I was just in the process of setting up a MM Liberator play though on my xbox.
I have been putting it off until other factions got up and running as I don't have it in me to play the conqueror.
Put the breaks on it after reading how liberators game experience is less than optimal.
