Title says it all. There is no SS tab in my workshop menu. Is there any tab recovery option besides using the menu rescue in SMM?

Thank you.

This did happen to me one time where SMM didn't work at all and menu rescue did nothing.

Did you ESL flag the SettlementMenuManager.esp, either to use it as an ESL flagged ESP or as an .esl?

When I had tried that, it completely stops working including on new games. No Sim Settlements tab and them not being in Special tab either. Existing games where it had been used as an ESP before were apparently still able to access the already added menus though menu rescue didn't work. I can only assume that either the FormIDs as they come in the ESP(xx002665 for the Note, xx002664 for Terminal, xx00633A for the Quest) are explicitly referenced by the scripts rather than via the EditorIDs, meaning it can't find the relevant record data if the FormIDs were compacted for ESL. This would be like if the minutemen quests put in their scripts "Annoying Guy == 00019FD9" rather than "Annoying Guy == PrestonGarvey". Either way works but if the FormID is outside of the range of xx000800 & xx000FFF then people who want to ESL convert must compact it changing the FormIDs so the script will break since it won't find anything at the original FormID written in it.

Normally stuff will be referenced by their EditorIDs(people usually will remember the records by what they named them rather than the randomly assigned number), either base or reference EditorIDs but for all I know there could be technical reasons why it has to be the other way. Since I am not experienced with the deeper technicalities involved with advanced scripting, I have opted to just use Settlement Menu Manager as in its default ESP state rather than attempt to make it work as an ESL flagged plugin. I now try to always give a mod that involves script work a test drive after converting to ESL to check if the scripts might break for the same reason as here.

The best way is to rollback and use the uninstall chem or halotape that came with the mod that caused the problem in the first place. If it had one?. The SMM works in some cases.

I have had saves a long while back that the only way to recover it was an entirely new game.

Ok, that said. Here are the only other options I know of. :pardon
