Discussion RP Lobby - Who Are You?

Character Name: Victor Roland
Character Gender: Male
Prime Motivator: Revenge transitioning to ambition as he realizes his skillset and technological knowledge can make him quite powerful and wealthy if he can build up a force that answers to him

Narrative:

Victor is a bonafide genius. His biggest problem is that he knows it. He's always gotten along better with robots and computers than people, and he spent most of his youth tinkering in the garage with some new invention or contraption. While his family urged him to attend university, his hubris was such that he felt it would be a waste of time.

Without a formal degree, work was hard to find and he quickly found himself working as an unlicensed robotic technician installing illegal hardware and software for discerning customers. For Victor, it was a chance to work on military grade tech and occasionally leave out a part or two that would find its way home with him. Unfortunately, this habit came to the attention of one of his discerning customers, a criminal group using heavily modified bots as extra muscle and security.

With a pair of sizeable goons in pursuit, Victor dashed into an army recruiting station and signed up. He knew he'd do well as a technician or something similar, but glancing behind him at the goons, he imagined returning one day and having to do something about the next pair of muscle-bound apes his former employer sent after him. The infantry seemed like an excellent way to develop the skills needed to stand up for himself. Or perhaps learn explosives and arrange for a car bomb or three. He hadn't quite planned it all out before he was shipped out and on the battlefield.

After the war, he met Nora and fell in love. It was a whirlwind romance, and it wasn't until she became pregnant and he realized he was going to be a father that he finally confessed the sort of work he had been doing. Promising Nora he would clean up his act, he was looking for work when the bombs fell. Nora and Saun had instilled in him a desire to be something better. Nora's death and Saun's abduction shattered him.

As he began to understand the new world around him, Victor vowed two things; he would find the people who murdered his wife and took his son, and he would stop at nothing to achieve his goals as no one but Saun mattered. In this brave new world, Victor believed his knowledge and skills could make him a powerful man. And power is just what he needed to make them pay.

Which Faction will you "win" with?: The Institute.
The Brotherhood is too technology-averse for his liking and the Railroad, while likely to be useful in the short-term, doesn't provide the prestige and power running the Institute does. Once Kellogg is dead and Father is revealed to be Saun,
Victor's mind will start envisioning a world ruled by the Institute, and therefore him, as he turns his raider army into a veteran mercenary force supplemented by a legion of synths and robots. First the 'raiders' are sent to a new region of the world and do what they do best - raid. Then the Institute arrives to liberate the locals bringing them safety and the enjoyments of a technologically-driven civilization. Rinse. Repeat. World conquest. Without his family, he'll lose himself to the power and a vision of a world where nuclear annihilation will never happen again as his shattered mind blames the loss of his family on corrupt and idiotic governments and leaders. Of which he will not be. Of course not. Never mind the billions of caps and 50-story mansion.

Additional Info: Intelligence 10. 11 with the perk book and 12 with the bobblehead. I'm playing him like a morally questionable MacGyver with a Napoleon complex. I also have Project Valkyrie installed, so it is possible the ending will be different since it has several new potential endings. I may not even finish this game, as what I really want to play is a Project Valkyrie Minutemen army playthrough when Conqueror is fully developed. In the meantime, this is my main playthrough as I help playtest the mod.

Updated mine (Red, above) because of a funny incident with a bear, a dragon and a stag near Natick. Did you ever listen to those raiders telling stories in downtown before you killed them. The story in the new spoiler is kinda like that.

That same Radhound Raider Boss doesn't appreciate when you're running for your life toward one of his vassal settlements bringing mongrels or other monstrosities - that's a whole lot of nope:

Ronan.jpg
ronana redrocket .jpg
Character Name: Ronan
Character Gender: Male
Prime Motivator: Caps, caps, and more caps.
(Alternate Start Mod)
Ronan here isn't too sure about when he was born, or even where. You see Ronan was abandoned at a diner in Egret Tours Marina when he was just an infant. In 2261 few gunners making their way south to Gunner's Plaza heard the baby crying and decided to bring him to HQ for further medical evaluation. That was the first time Ronan would receive his signature gift of luck.
Day after day for as long as he could remember it was training and looting. The Gunner's didn't pick him up because they we're feeling "nice", a child has a unique ability to fit into spaces adults can't and Ronan was just one lucky son of a gun (get it). No ghoul ever heard him, no Mirelark ever snapped him in half. Infact, his luck become renowned in 2279 when, after a brutal showdown with a pack of Super Mutants, a suicider's mini nuke failed to detonate upon impact at Ronan's feet. Some thought he was blessed, most just were envious..
And so he grew up, was a strong and good soldier but more over was always incredibly lucky.
In 2287 there was a dispute between a Gunner Major and Ronan. The Major, after several setbacks, gave orders for a supply run on a Super Mart in Lexington, more out of bravado than necessity. Impatient and stubborn he would not heed the young private's words of a ghoul infestation which he had scouted earlier. Grossly outnumbered and under armed Ronan refused the order. Spending all his life looting for the Gunners he wasn't about to die for a few sugar bombs, they needed backup. The Major, furious, kicked a shopping cart against the wall as hard as he could and ordered his execution for mutiny. Sticking his automatic plasma rifle to Ronan's head he laughed, "not so lucky this time huh?". Yet just before he could pull the trigger a swarm of ghouls set off by the shopping cart burst forth from the parking lot devouring the Major and his few men.
Ronan ran and ran and ran, finally stumbling upon Concord and a lone raider on a roof named Jammer... His new life had begun, he was a gunner no more.
This is how The Radhounds were born.

Character Name: Vince
Character Gender: Male
Prime Motivator: "To rebuild everything I've lost."
Narrative: "I was a soldier in the United States Armed Forces, before being wounded in the field, ending my career and forcing me into an early retirement. My wife, Nora, thought that I was living on veterans' benefits, that my late-night phonecalls were with the VA, and my 'friends' were just other veterans.

No. I felt I could still serve my country in other ways, if not on the field of battle. I've been keeping a secret from her. I'm an agent for the Defense Intelligence Agency, with top-secret clearance. I've never met my new handlers, the ones who contacted me while I was recovering from being wounded after the Battle of Anchorage. They call themselves 'the Enclave,' and they were supposed to formally induct me into their organization at this big veterans' meeting. That 'speech' I was supposed to give would let their recruiter know who I was. From there, they'd take me, my wife, and my son away to an oil rig off the coast of California.

Unfortunately, there wasn't enough time. We detected Chinese subs off the coast. The Enclave set me up with a Vault instead, in hopes that they would give the all-clear and bring us back into the fold. Unfortunately, it was never meant to be. Raven Rock fell, and the Vault itself descended into chaos, leaving nobody to unfreeze us... nobody except the 'Institute.'

I made contact with the Enclave eventually. Some of their members were frozen in an isolated part of the Vault, and we've since been able to rebuild, using our base of operations at the Atlas Summit bunker in the Glowing Sea, and another 'oil rig' off the coast of Boston. We've fought the Brotherhood of Steel to a standstill, but we just don't have the numbers for a long, protracted conflict.

The Enclave won't work with 'mutants.' They see Synths as machines like any other, so perhaps there's a chance of working with the Institute, who are just as 'pure' as the Enclave themselves. And my own son is their leader! The only problem is that the Institute wants to wipe the slate clean and rebuild the world from scratch, whereas the Enclave wants to turn back the clock. Those differences are irreconcilable, even if Shaun wishes for me to become the new Director after his death. If I can just prevent war between the Enclave and the Institute long enough, maybe I can change a few minds.

The simple fact of the matter is, we'll never defeat the Brotherhood alone. I can convince these idiot Raiders to fight the Brotherhood for us. But if nothing else, we need food, and materials for the Enclave's factories.

These 'Raiders' trust me. They can be made to work for us. But once they've outlived their usefulness, well...

They're mutants just like any other."

Which Faction will you "win" with?: The Enclave. (Here's hoping someone makes a pack for them once the new toolkit is out.)

Character Name: C7 (number of the protagonist's pod)
Character Gender: Female
Prime Motivator: Conquest for conquest's sake. So, power I guess.

Narrative: Total amnesia after being frozen, woke up with nothing but a vault suit, ring, and baseball bat. Went into the Museum to steal the power armour but realised Preston pays much better than Jammer. She plans to direct the Minutemen with a more "dynamic" and profitable approach - after all, she is the General now.

C7 equips her raiders with Minutemen outfits, laser muskets, militia hats, and whatever armour is lying around. They go and provide "help" to another settlement by motivating them to help supply the Minutemen with food, caps, and/or labour.

Which Faction will you "win" with? The "Minutemen" if I actually do the main quest at all.

Character Name: Major Jonas H. Coolwater, US Army, Ret.
Character Gender: Male
Prime Motivator: Justifiable Homicide

Narrative:
Civil Affairs Division.
There didn't turn out to be much civility in Alaska, did there?
Not that the Canadian Pacification Program was particularly civil, either, but at least I got to do the job I was trained for.
Alaska went tits-up fast.
I was there when the ye---... when the Chinese invaded. R&R at a little hunting camp/brothel about 100 miles inland from Anchorage.
80-odd officers from 40-odd units, none of us below Major, and 100 or so support staff and another 100 or so ... hostesses.
General Fontaine was convinced that after 33 years riding a succession of ever-larger desks his moment had finally come and did his best to organize us into a behind the lines resistance and sabotage cell.
His best wasn't very good.

There were only twenty-seven of us left by the time we hooked up with the survivors of the commando team.
Their mission was spectacularly FUBARed, and they were every bit as cut off from support as we were, but Genius Jonas here decided that we could salvage their mission.
And we did. In a fashion.
Because by then I had discovered I had a gift for violence. And ruthlessness.
I could make sacrifices and still face myself in the mirror when I shaved.
So I made some sacrifices.
The goo-- the Chinese lost their supply dump, and I slunk back to the camp with three remaining commandos and the two Trixies.

The High Brass was really pleased with me at first.
There were medals, press conferences, even a photo with the President.
Then someone dug up Col. Tillerman's journals, and they learned what happened to Fontaine.
Having made me a hero, they could hardly turn around and prosecute me, so they had me diagnosed with severe battle fatigue and sent me to Parsons for "treatment."

Parsons was not fun. I'll just leave it at that.
But Alaska didn't break me, so neither did that place.
I'm not sure how she found out about me, but some hotshot young lawyer took up my case and got me released with a clean record.
Then I found out what her fee was.
Turned out she was knocked up and needed to get married in a hurry if her hopes for a political career were gonna survive.

So we settled down in Sanctuary Hills, and pretended to be a happy little family.
I was almost able to fool myself that I actually was happy. Sometimes for weeks at a time.
Then the anger would build up to the point I needed to hurt someone.
I didn't love Nora, but I was grateful to her, so I kept things away from the neighborhood, despite how much I would have loved to kick the crap out of that kid across the street.
I'd usually go somewhere in Southie to cut loose. Play drunk at some dive, wait 'til somebody tried to roll me, then take them out.
I'm not sure how long I'd have gotten away with it, but somebody pushed the big red button and I became the coldest cold case ever.

Well, Im currently playing with two different characters so Ill post both with pics later.

Character Name:
Pre Bombs: Declan McBride
Post Vault: Only known as Razzor

Character Gender: Male

Prime Motivator: Find who took his soon and make them pay at any means necessary

Narrative:
Having suffered sever trauma at the death of his wife and the kidnapping of his son. Declan Awakens to an entirely different world, devoid of the Humanity he once knew (Although there is a shimmer of it here and there). His driving means is uncovering the whereabouts of his son and using his training in the Spec Ops Community during the war before the bombs fell to his full advantage. After his encounter with Jammer in concord Declan dawns the new name of Razzor (Who secretly left Preston and the other settlers alive) Razzor quickly realizes that with their vast numbers Raiders would be a great way to gather Intel as they are always out and about in the wasteland Raping and Pillaging.

End Game Razzor will betray the raiders having never really liked them to begin with and most likely will be siding with the Minute Men and or BOS (Haven't Gotten that far or decided yet) But he will soon move past what has happened and use his knowledge of Pre War Tech to try and advance humanity and build his own little spot of the world with Clean water, Power and self sufficient community that is safe and warm without the worry of a shack home falling in on you during a storm.

(Used and Alternate Start Mod for this Character below)
Character Name: Tana Lynn

Character Gender: Female

Prime Motivator: Find who killed her Mentor and CO

Narrative: Tana was raised in a small boarder town within the wastes of the NCR, being a small town there wasn't much in the way of visitors and many led a quiet life. The town was erected on the spot of a natural spring that had a deep and long running aquifer. Because of this the town flourished in Agriculture from very successful Farms to Ranching. One bright and sunny day the air was incredibly still. A great Centuria of Caesar's Legion came marching over the horizon led by a particularly cruel and sadistic Centurion who ordered his Centuria to lay waste to the town killing off any strong looking men and capturing the Women and Children as slaves. As a small group of men entered their homestead Tana's Mother and Older Brother attempted to defend their home as their father was caught and slaughtered while working the fields. She witnsed from here hiding place, her brother get run through with a spear and shot in the head while a group of men ravished and murdered her mother. She was eventually found and thrown in the slave pens and the Centuria moved on. Not 12 hours later a Platoon of NCR Soldiers with a small detachment of Rangers came through and found the devastation of what once was a beautiful small community, with new orders to move on and track down the Centuria the hunt was on.

24 hours later, on a cool desert night. Two Rangers camouflaged in their hide on a hilltop watched through their scopes as the Centuria set up camp for the night. Having Returned to their CO a Tactical Plan was thought out with the Attack Commencing just before dawn. It was during this Attack that Rob a Cherry Ranger just out of Training found and rescued Tana. Having Later Adopted her and becoming the 11yo's mentor. A month after reaching the age of enlistment Tana was enlisting into NCR Military. Showing promise and a bright successful career she rose fast through the ranks becoming a NCO in record time and soon becoming a NCR Ranger herself. It was about 2 years after this her mentor and his spotter along with half the NCR Squad was ambushed and killed by a group of Mercenaries. Led by none other then Kellog, She eventually tracked him down to the Boston Area and is out for Revenge.

Having no love for Raiders and Thieves she will not be siding with Raiders for very long. In the end Im still not sure who she will side with. I haven't got that far into the game and I will just follow my gut and see how it plays out. I could see the BOS or Minute Men making good use of her Military Training and helping her find purpose again. But I truly think she has moved past that point in her life. What ever direction she choose this character will probably continue to wander the wasteland. Helping those in Need, I really do hope some of the awesome Mods adding new lands and areas soon come out as I will probably play those with this character. I really wish there was a away to tie important parts of the fallout world and include the main areas from the fallout series in one giant game. But that is a big dream I dont see happening especially with the current garbage outdated game engine Bathesda Continues to use

EDIT: I dont currently have a Pic of Tana. Im getting ready to play. Ill snap a couple and post them up

Character Name: "Ahab"
Character Gender: Male
Prime Motivator: "i've awaken into a living hell, my son is an uptight jerk and the usual settler is dumber and ungrateful than a feral ghoul, and a guy in a rooftop is giving me the chance to become the hammer the Commonwealth needs... lets become the local Satan and take the best of it"
Narrative: Ahab woke after the traumathic experience and plenty of scars in the face for some reason trying to find his son, which lead him to many many Commonwealth Shenanigans, which included a Raider yellling at him some sense from a rooftop, a group of weirdos leaded by a cosplayer of "ancient" american history who ended dead (how they dare to ask a father to do stuff elsewhere when he has a kid to find?).
Pretty much messy stuff, however that offer of mischief given by that raider in the rooftop kept nagging in his head. Learning that the jerk wife murderer called Kellog sent the kid to the Institute gave him some pause, he wasn't going to find him any time soon unless he find some jerks able to help him... Meanwhile he got in contact with the raider in the rooftop who happened to call himself Jammer, an actually cheerful guy who was also a bloodthirsty murderer but also has an idea, and what an idea! become the one punting the asses of those slobs of settlers!.
Covenant fell fast, the corpses of the upthight settlers became decoration and with this first step, the Deathbringers stuck the shovel that began to slow and purposeful siege of those lousy settlements around what once was Boston, demanding tribute from Taffington and enslaving the people at the drive-in cinema:
5ws0CCF.png

all of this, while pretending cooperation with the Railroad, who had the ways to find his son (at that moment he was thinking into raising him as a raider, that's the fucking life!), which actually was funny and interesting, if they knew what he was doing in the north they didn't cared which suited him fine. That stuff with the Railroad finally gave him the lead to the Institute and to his son... i remember he came angrier than usual, after learnin that his son was now a 60 year old Know-it-All self-righteous jerk, and he hates Know-it-all self-righteous jerks!... Long story short this toxic relationship between father-son ended in massive brotherhood blimp falling to ground due to Railroad shenanigans and a thermonuclear detonation...atop of his son... how someone tops that?, a pair of hours ago Ahab went with a group to Jamaica Plains in order to take the settlements and do something useful from the resident slobs, however i heard some strange force is keeping them from assaulting, knowing the boss, he will be staring HARD to the settlement...
oTMhf8m.jpg

Which Faction will you "win" with? already "won" with those terrorists of the Railroad, who seem to not care of what we do here. And with the two serious threats out of action the commonwealth is ours for the taking, however, this will take a lot of job (and shootings)

Love all of these backstories - I have put out personal requests for an extension to my Conqueror Pre-builds and I am looking for permissions to use your backstory for a "Scenarios" type mod …. if you have a backstory you would be willing to share and be part of my next extension, please PM me and we can go over what I need to make your Character work in my "scenarios"...

Thanks much.
John
