Vanilla Bug - Unsolved Preston's Quincy group now hostile...

Started a new game on Conqueror. Everything worked great for me as far as pre-built settlements goes (I killed Jammer. Didn't wanna be a raider...) and it was great up until I had Preston Garvey as my follower and did the Arc Jet mission for Paladin Danse. Long story short, Preston was downed (but not killed) by a synth and I was immediately awarded the "Executioner" perk. Having turned off Executioner's ability to murder essential NPCs I thought nothing of it until I returned to Sanctuary to find Mama Murphy, Jun and Marcy, and even Codsworth and Sturges trying to kill me. The awarding of Executioner seems to act like it assigns you to an enemy faction as soon as it's awarded to you, but this enemy faction seems to literally just be comprised of your original Sanctuary crew. Just figured you guys should know. I have no idea how to circumvent this at all.
 
I had this happen as well. Completed the original Concord quest for Preston & Co. and they went hostile on me. I left - without attacking any of them - and came back later and was able to continue. BUT, the entire group now attacks Carla every time she entered Sanctuary! I killed Carla just to put a stop to it, but - yeah - something is hinky with this.
 
I had this happen to me as well, though Preston was way back in Sanctuary and I was in Red Rocket, and now every time I walk there they're just trying to kill me.
 
Did you think Preston was just going to take all the hate? Only so much a person can take! ;)
 
I also told Jammer I wasn't interest in being a raider and killed him. Got passed the Quincy 5 attacking me by removing the perk and waiting 3 days. They're now at Sanctuary but they attack Trashcan Carla, npcs from the NPCs Travel mod, and even the provisioners brahmin whenever they come to town. The 4 other settlers and Codsworth stay calm but not the Quincy 5. (using version 4.0.0a for both Sim Settlements and Conqueror.)
 
Started a new Minutemen playthrough with 4.0.0a and at 9hrs in the Quincy 5 appear to be playing nice with everyone. No Executioner perk so far.
 
This is fixed in the 4.0.0a patch, you now have to shoot one of Preston's gang multiple times yourself when they go into bleedout or it doesn't count against you.

Previously, as soon as any of them were knocked down by an enemy, it was assuming you did it and awarding the executioner perk/setting them hostile.
 
I started a game with the Sim Settlements All in one pack 4.0.0 If I remember correctly and am running 4.0.0a. The Quincy five keep attacking Milking Pen Brahmin, Trashcan Carla, me, and any other friendly NPC's. I did not have this problem at all before using Conqueror.
 
The only thing Conqueror does with them, is tells them to attack the player in response to one them being downed after the player shoots them multiple times. We did this without messing with their factions - which is what would cause what you're describing.

We did not alter them at all, it's all done with a script. Unfortunately, I can't replicate what you're describing, so it sounds like you might not be able to use Conqueror.
