Is there a option i us the new farms with out the pre built cities or raider question line? I love checking out new plot type but do not have much interest in the prebuilt cites or raider right now.

Heavy Agricultural Plot - The first ever 3x3 plot is introduced. This provides 50% more food than a 2x2 plot, but also requires power, and has higher water and defense penalties.

By default, the plans included with Conqueror will be locked until you complete part of the Raider quest. Add-on pack authors will be able to release building plans for it that do not require any quests to unlock. When those are installed, those plots will be available immediately. The Heavy Agricultural Plot is part of Sim Settlements 4.0, and is available without installing Conqueror.

thanks just means i will have to wait till an add on pack has them but will it be a new one or a update to one i already use i wonder :)

So, currently, no 3x3 agricultural plots will show up unless you have conqueror installed, is that correct? Is there a way to unlock them in 3-in-1 pack or without going through raider questline?

That's correct, @RawHail . Currently, you need to complete quests in the raider questline to unlock them, but they are available for add-on pack authors to create non-raider quest gated versions.

Thanks for the information @snarkywriter as I tried to build a 3x3 ag plot but it wasn't available. I'm only level 8 right now in the Conq. play through. Question answered! Danke!

Thank you for the quick reply. I personally have no interest in playing a raider so I'll wait for the add-on content then. Thanks!
I'm working on one, am aiming for next week hopefully. It'll start with low plot count but I am going to try to make it be an ESL-flagged ESP.

My advice, only use the 3x3 for looks, that is it, not for food.

Sadly there is no balancing with the farms, I cheated and used throw money at sim settlements mod, to see what it is like, if you are after best efficiency then do not use the 3x3.

There is an internal plot, a hydro one from Eldrath at level 3 it gives 27 food for only 2x1 size.
The heavy farm at level 3 gives 10 food, does look cool though.

What would you say would be some good numbers for 3x3 Ag? On my Addon 3x3 Ag plots I can modify the values if I want. From memory, by default the new ones I made on are giving me 20 food at Level 3, 28 food at Level 4.

I'm sorta thinking these numbers: Level 1: 6 Food, Level 2: 12 Food, Level 3: 24 Food, Level 4: 36 Food. Maybe a bump in power/water costs.

Might be due to Raiders farming it? Since they hate farming right?

That might be Level 2's value though? IIRC mine is giving about 10 at Level 2. Level 1 gave 3.

Unless the Conqueror ones simply give less than the actual default values?

I honestly do not know, the numbers are probably right, its just the internal is OP.
I just think, you are going to be limited in places, you certainly couldn't have more than one 3x3 in Tenpines, so you would want it to give a decent amount of food.

The one thing I do know for sure, I built one behind the first house in sanctuary not knowing it was not going to build any sort of foundation for it, and there would be no option for any type in customisation, so I had to use 2x2 which then took up way to much room, so for me that is the biggest thing putting me off using them.

I thought if you took a vassal it was civilians/slaves not raiders running them.

It should be coming in a future patch. I really wanted these so I made some for Sim Settlements. I tried learning to set up snap points and they work okay if not quite as quick & easy as 2x2. I've also made custom ones since I am the same & want 3x3 foundations. I might just include it in my 3x3 Ag addon along with the other ones I made, since IMO it does feel pretty vital for mine.

I'm doing some test builds on my Discord for now since it really doesn't go over well if it gets uploaded to Nexus with problems. Plus content is a bit light yet

Slaver outpost, though I haven't tried it yet. Trying to make stuff so haven't played too much yet.

I agree for sure. I'll err on the higher side so it isn't feeling un-viable in terms of food production compared to the Int Ag plots.

Normally I would not care about the bases, I usually use a mod that flattens all the settlements, but I wasn't sure if it was causing me some of the troubles I have been having, so with no foundation on a none flat surface it looks silly sticking out in the air.

I would stick with what you have, then always can fill with internal plots, but that is just me, I still self build all my settlements, I hate RC.

I find them helpful because of frequently uneven terrain.

Right now I have defaults but already had been thinking it's low. I do a mix of RotC & manual, I do like Conqueror how it prebuilds since I will start new game often. It has gotten me to think a bit more about custom settlements so I can have sandbox building there.

Once people started showing me settlements with plots building into the sky stacked on top of one another, I realized that balance based on size wasn't working - as you essentially have unlimited space if you're willing to build upward. Since then, plot balance is largely based around dynamic needs, so higher producing plots will put more stress on your defense, water, and power needs.

So even though Interior are smaller, they still have the same effect on your power/defense/water as a 2x2, since they provide the same benefits.

I have mine producing a minor increased amount over the defaults for 3x3, right now Level 4 produces 40 food but I can change it any time if people don't like it. I gave them a Defense Penalty to help encourage Martial at the same time, since I find those sometimes are not used very much.

Yeah that probably makes sense, when/if we get to play as an institute faction raider farms should produce less than institute farms.

I figure anything would produce more than raider farms. Since the idea is that the raider farms are operated by Slaves, slaves would probably be the least productive workers(though likely consuming much less themselves). Institute would probably produce even more than mine but likely require more power.

Mine now produces 46 at L4, so I think baseline Heavy Agriculture may have gotten buffed. I did not increase power cost but added a penalty to Defense. I might adjust it but will leave it alone for now unless people using the test build give me feedback about changing it.
