So here is a version of my City Plan at Longfellow's Cabin that has never seen All Settlements Extended or any other border extension mod, or scrap mod either.
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/33017
Quite tricky since there is lots of unscrappable stuff.
Please let me know of any bugs/criticisms etc.

Congratulations on your first non-ase mod!

By the way, you should come and join us on Discord.

I have found a potential problem. cabin2_0.95.esl
It isn't a good idea to hard code version numbers into the file name.

Okay, I don't really get why not, but I'll take your word for it:) Presumably then Nexus doesn't mind a whole load of files with the same name? Will anyone using the manager to download a newer version with the same name have the old one overwritten?

Well I'm not a big social media person, I get to be all smug at my daughter over the recent confirmations of my longstanding beliefs about facebook for instance! :)
But there seems to be a discord plugin for purple/pidgin so I'll give a it a go, what do I have to do?

When people install an updated mod, they usually download the new mod, uninstall the old mod, and then install the new updated mod.

The reason not to put version numbers on the .ESP/.ESL is that every time we install an update to your mod, the game will act as if we just uninstalled one mod and installed a new mod. We will loose all progress on the original build and have to start over again.

Without the version number, the update will happen with all progress being carried over from the original iteration as long as the file name remains consistent between updates.

You can name the mod container (zip file) anything you like. Just keep the .ESP/.ESL names consistent.

@diziet @DJRackham described exactly the problem.

Uituit gave you a link to the thread to post in for access. I don't think I would consider it social media - more like a virtual meeting hall. I suggested to join it as there are other city builders and addon authors there that can help with problems you might be having. I don't use the pidgin plugin myself, so I can't help you there. The official discord client works well, and run on almost anything though.
