Buzzing sounds from settlers

Hi,

This is a recurring bug I get with any game play I do and its not involved with any mods I have, since other people have reported it with no mods.
I get at random settlers (or in now 2 cases Mama Murphy) a VERY annoying buzzing sound.

Like the sound welding makes.
Currently, Mama Murphy is making it again. Its the same sound when the vanilla Concord npcs use when working on the yellow house.

I tried everything I can find online to fix it.
Tried disable enable
Tried kill but she is essential so she just gets back up
Tried fks but comes back
Tried resting away from Sanctuary and travel back but she still has it
Tried commanding her to go to a workstation and the game says its assigned like the scrapper but she just walks to it and continues walking around.

I read its cause I fast traveled when they are performing the action.
Everyone says go back in your saves but I can't find the save that is causing it and I don't want to lose hours of gameplay.

Anyone able to help?

It's a vanilla bug. You might be able to get it to stop if you can get the NPC in question to use one of the crafting work benches and allow them to complete the animation cycle.

How do I get Mama Murphy to do that? Every time I tell her to go to a workbench she walks toward it, stops and then keep on walking.
Scrapping station same thing (even after getting the notification that its assigned).

If its vanilla are there any mods out there that fixes it? I have the unofficial patch but that doesn't fix it.

You may just have to hang around in Sanctuary until she wanders over to one on her own. Since Mama Murphy isn't a companion, there isn't much else you can do. Sorry.

(This is a post I made in another forum after some how the sound disappeared)

I don't know what happened but the sound is gone.

I tried to assign her to scrapping. She never did but did her usual "building" on the house.

The sound was still there until she she stopped and hammering on the house and the same time I have a ligning storm going on.

Some how its gone. I don't know how but it is.

Most annoying bug in my book.

Now to somehow stop the vanilla concord npcs from "building" the house.

------------------------------------------
So I got Spring Cleaning and removed all idle markers at the house. So hopefully it stays this way unless the cell gets reset somehow.

She did eventually use the scrapping station though but caught her a rare timing. Usually she just walks around.

Since this is a vanilla bug hope this doesn't go over with Fallout 76, there are no npcs I know but still, very annoying.

As said above this bug was vanilla, out of 7 play throughs, i have had this in 2 and 5 have never suffered, go figure lol.

I remember talking about this issue back in 2015 lol. I remember lots of people with solutions, people saying you placed speaker poles instead of those wooden ones to connect cables, but then I had to point out that the last time I checked I hadn't shoved one up the NPC's, well you know what I mean.

My Last 2 play throughs, nothing - Hell thats the answer, you haven't played it enough :)

There has been claims that certain actions can cause a sound loop or loop distortion but trust me this is one I am so sorry to say I have no idea.

Please don't lol, I have avoided looking into 76 when I heard about the nuke other players and thought OMG Fallout GTA and then finding out from another post it seems like the same engine will be used has me so worried that this maybe Fallout The End. Being a Fallout OAP, I worry about the direction that 76 is going, I get in someways it must go forward, but then I just think, Yep my new car is going to be this amazing looking Aston Martin with this old ford escort engine in it.

Without spoiling what was already released in interviews and videos on youtube about 76 then I would say that after learning alot, most if not all of my worries about a multiplayer version of Fallout 4 (some shared assets and with a highly upgraded engine) are gone. I'm actually excited for it and pre-ordered it.

It is well good to look into what has been discovered. Alot of questions were made since E3 and 95% of them have been answered with satisfying results.

Bethesda stated that Fallout 76 will be like New Vegas of Fallout 3. A filler for the next Fallout and the same time trying multiplayer that they never have before. Their road map for the next IPs are still single player. So I don't see Bethesda all of a sudden making nothing but multiplayer games for money milking. They get enough of money on reputation alone (plus there Creation Club).

Ganking will be hardly an issue as there are planned systems for it and the nuking part is another thing together that I wouldn't concern one about.

The engine will be "new". The Creation Engine with foundations of the Gamebryo engine all the way back since Morrorwind will be made from the ground up. So it will be a new engine with familiarity.

I only mentioned 76 before because of the bugs in Fallout 4 and regarding this sound bug and hope bugs like this won't port over.

Now I really don't think this particular bug will be present. Being multiplayer alot of the assets will be generated differently for the game client and any patches will happen live and quicker than Fallout 4.

However when I was researching this bug I came across of other reports of people's player character making sounds from weapons. I haven't gotten that yet.

Thank you for the update on Fallout 76, you kind of pushed me into the light lol. As you can imagine, I am such a fan of Fallout I was kind of avoiding it, just incase it was all bad, my heart has been broken to many times :shok1

With this issue or simular, I have heard so many variations, I thinks it just a gremlin.

Once again though, Thank you for the update on Fallout 76, you put a smile on my face and something to look forward too, still with a little reservation lol

I will mark this post as solved, please let me know if you want it re-opened
