Modders modding the mod

With 21 current choices on Nexus for mods that mod SIM Settlements, some with recent updates and some seemingly static dates, is there a page that the casual player can use to see which of these additional mods are recommended and/or vouched for by the members of our community?* While I like the idea of community members adding content to SIM Settlement (in fact I hope to see more) , I hate feeling like I spend more time managing the mods than playing the game. So is there thread that addresses this or something on the Wiki?

* Mr. Jose Cueavo prompted this since he no longer wants to mod, does his current offerings remain viable with changes in SIM Settlement going forward?

Good question.. especially for those of us on Xbox with limited space who can't download every single addon. Also, there will come a time when I'll have to uninstall MrJoseCuervo's mods because (I think) they'll no longer be compatible with future updates of Sim Settlements if no one is maintaining them. Which sucks because his addons are fantastic.

That's a good question. I am a pc user and a bit of a mod fiend and it sometimes feels like I am trying to herd cats keeping up with my mod list. The best I can do is to keep an eye on the modder's activity on this site and the nexus page. Depending on what changes Kinggath makes with his upcoming expansion may force me to drop some that are not updated. Maybe Kinggath will be able to give us some clarification once he locks down the changes made with the upcoming expansion and that will help me make an informed choice on what add-ons I am able to keep. With most of the add-on authors having a presence here will help me make those decisions. This is a great community and I feel like it will not be to difficult to keep my mod list updated. Cheers!

There is only three authors that im aware of that arnt represented here with a forum in the addons category. Those would be Mimaef, PCDug and GeneralBrea. You can easily stay up to date by watching the addon category here for updates.

Yes Brea is a member and posts here but does not have a dedicated section for discussions and bugs. Cheers!

every mod author has the opportunity to open a dedicated forum to their work here. Its a simple process just requires a little startup fee of about $250 plus change to set it up.

Naw, they just have to ask an admin, and presto.

Under Forums, Addon Packs - perfect place to find them. Which still didn't address someone's question regarding update dates.

- Mods may be static because sometimes an addon mod may just be produced because the author had an idea and wanted to share it. Once its posted, and bug free they might not continue with that project. Or perhaps its just taking a while to build the next version...
- The Addons category on these forums is the place for checking on the details of current projects and updates. Content of these forums is at the discretion of the author.
- The Addon mod cant honestly be recommended. This is because its the players opinion. Compatibility is based on required mods and bugs. Naturally an Addon mod will be 100% compatible with the main Sim Settlement assuming there are no bugs.
- There is a page on the Wiki that lists all the available mods accepted by the community
* But just in case its not clear, there is no way to provide anyone with a list of addons, updates, and when to update them. This would require a system of management that wont exist is a modding community due to author time restrictions. But as stated above there are options that you can use to stay up to date with your addon packs.

My goal is to always maintain compatibility - even if the mod authors abandon their add-ons. Any of the features I add are optional for the Add-on pack authors to implement.

If for some reason I need to make an update that requires a change by the add-on authors, I'll make an effort to contact them to make sure the update is done.
