There's a patch out today to fix the load order problems caused by the Creation Club update.

Have any of you downloaded it yet? I'm curious if F4SE is broken once again...

Multiple users on Reddit are claiming it did break F4SE. I haven't updated yet to verify.

It did. I waited after the 1st time until F4SE was updated before going online to grab the free stuff but forgot to take Steam offline and paid the price :cray

I had Steam set to only update Fallout 4 when run, but apparently Steam somehow changed the setting to update automatically. I am dead in the water for a few mods now also.

I cannot run it as F4SE also broke with the update. Annoys me a lot, it feels like bethesda has gone to war with the modding community by constantly updating with every one of them breaking F4SE.

Personally, I don't get that feeling. I do wish the Creation Club info only downloaded when bought, preventing all these updates from being required. Glad this update does fix the load order problem.

The Dev notes for the patch mentioned it fixing the load order issue and some minor fixes to Bethesda.net accounts so hopefully this means they won't break f4se every time they add something to the CC

I must have forgotten to set updates to only work on game launch since Fallout 4 is now updated with F4SE broken again. Not sure if it will be helpful, but I found a setting under Steam > Settings > Downloads that lets you set auto-updates to only be allowed during certain times of the day. I have mine to an hour that I know the computer will never be on. Didn't even know it existed until today. Has anyone else tried this out and knows if it's useful for stopping updates?

Currently I only play Fallout 4 on Steam, so I just set it to offline mode. Hasn't bothered me since. This was a day before the first creation club patch. Now, if SS starts requiring me to update, I'll begrudgingly do it.

F4se will always stop working every time the game is updated. Something to do with how it does the changes it does. From the f4se page:
"Compatibility:
F4SE will support the latest version of Fallout available on Steam, and _only_ this version. When a new version is released, we'll update as soon as possible: please be patient. Don't email asking when the update will be ready; we already know the new version is out. The editor does not currently need modification, however when available a custom set of .pex/psc files must be installed."

So the Creation Club will prove to be a big disruption of the fallout 4 script extender. I kind of figured by now, so now we'll have to see if bethesda has enough enablers to encourage them to continue this dark path or if they'll stop so real mods can continue working for the game.

I turn off updates by going into
Big Picture Mode >Library>Fallout 4>Manage Game> Set update Options> never update

it just tells me it needs an update in steam

Unfortunately, I do not get that option at all in steam. The best I can do is "Only update this game when I launch it". I'd have to try starting steam in offline mode to play it.

o :(
you don't have the symbol next to ur name on steam? looks like an playstation controller

I've had good results from setting Fallout 4 to turn off automatic updates and then simply running the game through NMM.

As of 1:20 PM EDT, F4SE hasn't been updated. I'm sure they will get it all figured out relatively quickly as they have in the past.

Damn, forgot to set Steam to offline mode :/
Fortunately, it hasn't updated yet (I set it to update on launch).
I backupped Fallout4.exe, Fallout4Launcher.exe, and Data\Fallout4.esm and will try to revert. This was just a guess, is it known which files were actually changed?

Not being able to use the Place Anywhere mod drives me insane.

^This. It's literally the only mod I have that uses F4SE, but settlement work is unplayable to me without it. Which then kills a lot of my drive to play at all, because Sim Settlements is what got me playing again in the first place.

Will SS ever require using the latest version of FO4? I too only use F4SE for Place Anywhere and can't stand when it breaks due to an update. I keep Steam offline not only for this particular problem but also because of the other games I have that constantly get broken mod-wise anytime an update occurs (especially pinball stuff that I use for a fullsize pincab, which is *not* fun to have magically transform into a giant piece of useless furniture due to an update I don't need). I've been using SS just fine on v1.9.4, but wasn't sure if I should be wary of SS mod updates in this regard.
