Not a bug 2.1.1a Repeated CTD's

Since updating to Sim Settlements 2.1.1a and Industrial Revolution 2.1.1 have experienced repeated CTD's. It has the feel of an out of memory or some sort of choking on processing problem, odd since I'm running a i7 5820K machine with 64GB of ram and a 4GB GeForce 980 graphic card. A partial solution so far is repeated Quick saves to incrementally get things done and avoid repeating the same tasks over and over.

Is the crashes everywhere, or just at certain settlements?
If only at certain settlements, how many settlers do you have there, and is there a lot of vanilla game workshop items on top of Sim Settlements plots?

Remember even though your computer is top end, the Fallout 4 game engine is old. This can cause CTD's when the game engine is overwhelmed.

Your computer is a Ferrari, that says let's go 200 MPH. Fallout 4's game engine is from a Ford Escort, and says I am going to explode above 80 MPH.

It might be that your scripts are choked up. I have an alpha build of the save file editor, if you want to upload your save to dropbox.com or something similar, I can take a look.

With further play the problem so far seems to be only limited to Sanctuary Hills in close proximity to the bridge to Red Rocket. Have noted that walking vs running in the area and stopping movement if I see a momentary hesitation in graphics also may be preventing a CTD.

Visiting places like the Drive In where I have the most settlers and assets in one place and have no problems. Got burned with Bethesda's mod situation before Sim Settlements showed up and lost 3 months work with a level 95 character. Dumped it all and went back to a basic game with a new character and started using only Nexus mods.

Even though I show 20-some mods in the Nexus Settlements folder I'm pretty cautious about what I add to the game and would classify my mods as nice and handy vs crazy or over the top. I'm working on eliminating some of the assets around the bridge to see if that clears up the problem. If it persists or spreads to other settlements I'll revisit this thread for additional insight.

Thanks again for your help and advice

Have lowered graphic settings down from Ultra to either High, Medium, and in some cases to Off. Tried eliminating Scrap Everything to no benefit, then re-enabled it. Unfortunately it now seems the problem has only gotten worse. Haven't been everywhere in the Commonwealth with a Sim Settlement but it appears that any time I approach a commercial or industrial SS asset I'll get a halt in movement, then a CTD. Have to check further to be sure but this doesn't seem to be a problem approaching SS housing or agricultural assets, in fact I have even entered a few homes with no problem.

This whole situation only appeared with the latest Sim Settlement and Industrial Revolution updates. Really wish I could revert to the previous versions to see what happens but I unfortunately deleted them. Is there anyway I can gain access to the previous versions, or am I just begging to aggravate the problem further?

It's frustrating but I'm willing to try and solve this. I'd hate to lose another level 90+ character and all the work involved, however, there may come a point where a reinstall and fresh start may be necessary just to end the aggravation.

If you scroll down in the Nexus file tab, all the older versions are there.

If I were you, the first thing I'd do is get out of game, delete Sim Settlements and all Addons entirely from Nexus Mod Manager, then download them again and reinstall. If you don't go into game in between, it won't notice any difference.

LOOT to at least take a first stab at fixing load order, then manual intervention for the rest.

It sounds to me like you've got some missing/outdated file overwrites that are raising holy hell with your settlements. This should fix it.

If you are able to, please post your load order, sometimes a second or third set of eyes on the problem can pick up on things you might have missed.

Went into Options where I had dropped most settings down to High or Medium, and this time I dropped Anisotropic Filtering from 16 down to 8 and turned Antialiasing Off. Went into game for 60-90 minutes and changing one or the other appears to have solved the problem. Kind of perplexing since this is the first time those two settings have been changed since I started playing the game. Not going to question the result because now everything seems to be all good. Thanks again for the help.
