Conqueror setup - can you run again or 1x only?

SS vet, Conqueror noob... took year break and so many new updates to come back to. Watched the tutorial vid and read FAQ but I don't see a way to re-run the Conqueror setup/settings?

So simple question - is the setup for selecting which cities/plans you want to pre-build a 1x event and can't add to it later via holotape or whatever?

I started, wanted to test little at a time so only picked 4 settlements to pre-build and wondering if I need to restart from scratch to pre-build the rest?

Pretty sure it’s a one time thing. I know that when I refuse, it warms me it cannot be reversed.

@Jacozilla
:bye good to have you back!

What I have done is disable conqueror at the start.

Do the whole vault thing.
At the end, stop before taking the elevator.
Make a controlled save.
Activate Conqueror "while still inside the vault"
At this point it will run just fine. Just make sure it finishes and "you just wait inside the vault and look at a wall or something." :pardon
Once it is done and get the notification - then it is safe to leave.
This just shaves a bit of time if you need to go back and change something.

Do not do what I just said on the surface after leaving the vault. :mosking

You know, it will work if you get on the surface. I found this out by accident by forgetting skk fast start was enabled. Just stayed in the spot till built...

Just saying....

What may work in specific situations - we all do things and sometimes get away with murder. I am intending my comments toward users getting the mod up and running. :this

"Learn the rules well so you know how to break them properly" :umnik2
or
“Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist.” :umnik2
:acute
So, I am keeping my recommendations within the boundaries of the author's intended use for the mod. :this

At this point in my own learning process, I am neither a "pro or an artist." :wacko
I am not going to suggest as a workaround a possible solution that is so much easier to do correctly and has a greater chance for a successful game and future support.

:rtfm
I will "never waste my time helping to troubleshoot a user's future problem if I know they did not follow the intended installation instructions at the very start; other than to tell them to go back and follow the author's instructions."

Well, yeah. I was just stating what can happen - not that it is good or bad. It was a general comment about the pre-build continuing, not that you can start the pre-build outside the vault.

So I am not a pro or an artist... but a clutz!

My suggestion is "just stay put until it is done."

HAHAHA, Oh I am always surprised what can happen.
Amazon has nothing on my F04 supply lines.
Neither does Santa.

Fallout 4 and what can happen.

The view from the Abernathy's back porch.

Unidentified Flying Brahmin have been reported near the Abernathy farm by Blake and Lucy after placing Shroom plots constructed by contractors Tinuvia and Uituit.

You show that flying cow like it’s something kinda rare. Doesn’t this not happen to everyone all the time? Or is it just me? In my game, Settlers standing on roofs in sanctuary might be more common than settlers being at their god damned job! Brahmin dropping down from the sky is a daily occurrence, when they just stand on roofs it’s a good day for them.

And that’s without mentioning the alcoholic version of Icarus introduced in Industrial Revolution
;-)

And of course stand still!

haha.... will you be on NASA Santa tracking this year?

I fix that by putting pathways around so they can walk down (no path, just stand there) ... otherwise, they are always up there... until a flying turret comes along and pushes them off :)

I'm putting Conqueror on hold few days while I figure out what's causing my CTD or infinite load screen when fighting moles under Red Rocket (CTD) or leaving cave (infinite load). Read a few posts about people that had it and doing Conqueror setup each time just takes too long so suggestion in this thread was good one - I'm gonna make a clean save with almost no mods, no Conqueror and just figure out what my conflict is, then install Conqueror later.

I have done nothing in-game for near 1 month and invested likely well over a 100 hours on this one bug. huh?

Question:
Are you using?
Unique NPCs - Creatures and Monsters of the Commonwealth

Do you have a City Plan at Starlight "pre-built"

I am not going to tell you I have this one nailed down but what I will say is it will react with false positives.

Definitely not using Unique NPCs - but yes I did have city plan for Starlight pre-built. (*using plan made by author bowenje - all his Simple XXX series look very nice with lots of room left over for adding further customization/growth.)

For some odd reason on my 1st try at playthrough with Conqueror I didn't have this molerat CTD problem - when I only pre-built 4 cities (Abernathy, Tenpines, Sunshine Tidings, and Grey Garden)

I was ~3 hours into that run, and had gone in/out of RR mole rat cave plenty of times, zero issue. But now on 2nd try (with all settlements pre-built except the ones recommended not to on left side default list plus Spectacle and Hangman which I wanted to build by hand)

The setup took ~45-50min but looked fine - I sat in pre-war sanctuary and vault entire time, exited when all was done and everything seemed fine. I can get into really chaotic, huge land battles with everything and game never locks up or freezes.

But enter that stupid mole rat cave and it's CTD or infinite load on exiting. I would just skip this and pretend mole rat cave doesn't exist but what I read from ppl that got this issue, it's not just the mole rat cave, it's anywhere mole rats are inside interiors (which would make my playthrough a mess later on so trying to solve this now)

yeah, it carries over. I have it also with the Quest to pu Currie in vault 81.

I have tried different City Plans also. It is a vanilla bug but I can resolve it temporarily by disabling mods. Still, it returns.

Are you using BNS?

It is a vanilla bug, but here I think it is a combination of things triggering it.

Two threads I have been referring too.

It isn't a bunch of new mods I am running. Still, it popped up about a month ago and I haven't figured it out.

It’s caused by the Jammer’s raiders. There’s a rat in that organization. A mole rat...

No?

No?

Find I’ll see myself out.

@RayBo - yea those threads were what I found googling this exasperating bug. I'm currently testing without conqueror but my regular full build + a separate limited clean save start (e.g. almost no mods other than looksmenu and basic char creation stuff).

By regular full build I meant I just got done with the hours of removing, redownloading, and reinstalling everything after stripping out like ~40-50 mods. They were in the 'I want' but not 'absolutely need' category so trying if a more limited mod list helps solves this problem.

If that dont work will try bare minimum like UFOP + looksmenu for char creation and that's it. Report back bit later, giving it a go now.

Town gavel is my friend.

Limited, bare bones new game didn't have the molerat cave CTD / infinite load screen on exit issue - tested couple times, different guns and completely fine. Only used bare handful of mods load order below -

*Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch.esp
*CBBE.esp
*KSHairdos.esp
*SurvivalOptions.esp
*Give Me That Bottle.esp
*SurvivalOptions_GiveMeThatBottlePatch.esp
*The Eyes Of Beauty.esp
*CarryWeight1000.esp
*CarryWeight100Strength.esp
*LooksMenu.esp
*FO4 Seasons - Spring - AllDLC.esp
*Vivid Waters.esp
*Vivid Weathers - FO4.esp
*Vivid Weathers - FO4 - Far Harbor.esp
*Vivid Weathers - Nuka World.esp
*Pip-Boy Flashlight.esp

Basically, create my char way I want and survival options to save game + weather mod. Will now try with my trimmed down full build, ~180 mods list.
