Fence plots

This might seem like a stupid question but do I need to build all the plots for the different lengths of fences so that they go where I want them or is it place....move.....place.....move......?(xb1s)

I mean that I have the option in one plot placement for multiple lengths of fences ...3 plots long....7 plots long. And when I chose one of those it automatically places those other plots off the one plot I place on either side

Oh. Misunderstood the context of your question. The whole length of the fence (whether 3-5-7-L shape) will get built eventually. You only need the original plot you placed.

But when I chose one of those plans it automatically places the base for the entire section on either side but over laps existing structures...I was just wondering if I could control the direction of fence section for those additional 3-7 plots
( I might not be explaining right

I just placed a 2×2 commercial plot and built the [jtf] corpse fence and it automatically placed another plot on each side of it (just example) but the long fence and others do it as well just not as simple

They spawn great..I was wondering if I snapped multiple plots together (IE: 3 plots) if it would follow that path or if it's locked in a certain way that don't allow it

Some plots are locked (L-shaped), but most are straight. Visit the link I provided in my first post to see the documentation

I made the foundations appear at the beginning so you will know how much space they will take up.
Best to use these plots before placing other plots so you wont get the overlap.

What you can also do is plan ahead and use 2x2 foundations to plan out the layout for the fences, check out the Moat help video
