Can I conquer without being a raider?

Is it possible to play through Conqueror without being a raider? I've found mixed results on nexus and in the forums, so figured I would just ask directly here. I love the idea of this expansion, but would like to be able to take over cities while doing a minuteman or brotherhood playthrough. Any help here would be much appreciated!

Hey, thanks for the quick response! I guess my follow up question now would be, if I don't intend to play as a raider for this specific playthrough, are there any reasons to download and play Conqueror?
Without Conqueror, settlements cannot be pre-built, so if that's something you want, then you'll need Conqueror--just ignore Jammer in Concord and he'll go away.

There is a new patch coming this Friday, I would probably wait. There may be some advantages but I would think nothing that can't wait for the patch notes on Friday.

But, I am a bit conservative in that regard. :bye

Catallaxis is spot on also. I forget, I am a big fan of SS but do not use city plans. The building is something I really like.

Ah, gotcha. Will I be able to build in any of these pre-built settlements? Also, sorry for all these questions! I've been out of the mod scene for a few months now and am just trying to get my next playthrough sorted out :)

You can build in any of the pre-built settlements so long as you have access to the workbench, and I'm pretty sure you can do this the old fashioned vanilla way. Alternately, you can force access to the workbench using the Workshop Framework holotape (craftable at the chemistry station).

However, if you choose to pre-build all city plans and plots to level 3, and especially if you're using complex city plans, be warned that you may experience stability and/or performance issues if you try to build more.

And a very Long wait for it to complete the setup. I think I Waited like 3 -3 1/2 hours after getting pipboy before I got the complete message.
I am play a MM play through right now and Killed Jammer before I even let him tell me his name. (No Raider On this Run.)

Ha, I start it before I go to bed and set the notification on.. the popup holds the game till I wake up. I do mine right after character creation.

Not sure how one expects to "be about done by time about out of the vault"... dreamer! :)

John

EDIT: typical speed run through vault and exit is 17mins from game start … no way in heck conqueror is setup by time I would reach that point. 2 hours is about norm...

Sadly on Xbox I don't Recommend leaving the game run while sleeping. Don't know if Everything will still load when Xbox goes Idle
