Big John's salvage, the back up gunners come from the direction of the Federal Distribution. Two markers for the last two gunners stick at the top of the hill and they are already dead.
Fort Hagen, after the attack by mutant dogs and Rust Devils, no backups show up
Fort Strong, Nothing as I had previously cleared it from a BoS mission
Poseidon Energy, Cleared the Raiders, the first backup of Gunners came/cleared... nothing else
Poseidon Energy Turbine, cleared the initial gunners at the flag, few of the bugs/mirelurks. No one else showed up

I already cleared previously the Northern Star and Revere Satellite Array.

I waited 15 minutes on the no shows..

Other than Dunwich, which ones actually work and when?
 
If you have "simple wait anywhere" mod you can wait 1-2 hours or use "passtime 2" command, that worked for me previously when reinforcements were stupid. That happens a lot and likely more if you have infinite assault range. But Makhra fishpacking worked for me, Salem (I really want to see how it plays with the "Flourishing Salem" mod but I can't ever get to that damn part. Got pretty close this time tho..), Oberland, and likely any locations mentioned in the gunner reinforcements popup. Murkwater/Warwick for gunner outpost.
 
Poseidon Energy worked fine for me last time I did it, although that was a few hotfixes ago now - I think before the attempt to make enemy reinforcements work a bit better.

That said, within the past few hours I did that one super mutant held location Salvador directs you to (the one he says Gunners are using as a fuel outpost but it's not Gunners held?) and the 'reinforcements' took a good 10 minutes to even give me quest markers on them - one of which was stuck in some kind of "in combat but unable to move in any way" state? The supposed system to teleport them to the flagpole after a bit didn't move them all to it. (and a group of a half dozen level 50+ super mutants suddenly appearing was more than my squad of guys in low level armor could handle - but I have Plasma Grenades and the 'increased explosion radius' perk, so they didn't survive long)

Is that what's supposed to happen? In my previous assaults it would only teleport one or 2 gunners near me at a time and that was pretty weird. Everyone else would seemingly walk from where they spawned, if they spawned at all, getting in combat with everything on the way, takes forever. But it's been a while since I went through non-story assaults on a fresh patch so I might provide some better feedback later.

It was a good 10-12 all at once.
I'm actually in the middle of another Territory Assault right now and I've been waiting over 5 realtime minutes and still no sign of the supposed incoming reinforcements, not even any teleporting to the Flag. Quest has no marker to indicate where they're meant to be either, just says "hold against incoming reinforcements".

Alright, I just did a passtime 1 and now there's an enemy quest-marker on them... but watching it, it's like they're trying to run from where they spawned, but they keep getting teleported back to their spawn point every 10-20 seconds? No wonder they're never coming...

I rolled back before I blew up the Pridwyn and did the 3 Gunner Territories... that worked. I think that the scripts were too busy and were not able to keep up. Now that all 3 are done, I can now go back and blow up the Pridwyn and advance forward.
 
Now continuing on to reclaim settlements/territory... Getting extreme script lag at the Olberman station. The gunner reinforcements from Forest Grove and Libritalia are not showing up. Saved my point and will get back to this tomorrow.
 
tried again late last night... Still borked. The gunner troops got hammered by my MM patrols over by the radio tower. Then the settlers started turning on the captives in the settlement.
 
So I am rolling back to a save before (getting the part from Mass Fusion )... then doing another save at that point and before I go kill off the BOS, I will go liberate the farm and 3 other locations, then go kill off the BOS.
 
and that didn't work. I wiped out all of the gunners at Oberman, and got the indication that they had reinforcements coming in. Nothing. I waited 45 minutes for the scripts to make it happen. Nothing, so I kept moving the setstage by 10 until it completed.
 
It's either slow scripts or really slow pathing from the gunners (or they keep teleporting back). If it's the latter, skip time in-game (not irl) for an hr or 2 and they will be all around you.You can do that with a mod or command "passtime 1".
 
I also tried the passtime 1 and waited 30 minutes and got nothing. Since it told me where they were coming from I was looking in that direction for them to show up. Nothing showed up.
 
1 is in hours so you could do passtime 2, passtime 3... I did that twice and they showed up (previously no markers). You can try kah (kill all hostiles) too.
 
Tried that. I had a red marker but nothing appeared... So I did passtime 1 until 48 hours had passed in game time. Nothing appeared.
 
I dunno, it worked most of the time for me, but I'm on my testing-turned-main profile so script lag is mostly out of the picture. A lot of times don't even have to wait that long for reinforcements to show up, once I'm done looting everyone and stimpacking the soldiers they're already in sight.
 
how many gunner installations do I need to hit to clear this quest? BTW, I backed all the way to my save when I left the crypt. And will not start back on the institute line until this is complete. So far, even with a few crashes, I have gotten several done. I am trying though to get the 45 warriors at my outposts in the SE.
 
Why 45? And I'm not sure about the specific number of assaults.. 1 should trigger Under one banner, 2 for Outside assistance I think.. 3 for Aide memoire, 4 (or still 3) for Refrigerator.. 3 to 5 more to trigger Libertalia quest (think this is after a second "take outpost"). 1 or 2 more for next quest. I think the one after that starts immediately, and that's the furthest I ever got this far.
 
I established Vault 88 as a outpost, that built the 45 warrior level and then it progressed to maintain against the Gunners. Then Refrigerator and Libratalia kicked off... Now I am back tracking to finish the Institute thru Nuclear Family then back to SS2C3.
 
Oh yeah completely forgot about that req. Almost there too. And I counted between 15 and 20 assaults needed throughout chapter 3.
